Zest

Zest, a contemporary restaurant located in downtown Miami’s Southeast Financial Center, is Chef Cindy Hutson’s fresh spin on her award-winning “Cuisine of the Sun.” The self-coined, ethnically diverse, and seasonally driven culinary approach embraces global cuisine with nuances of Hutson’s signature island flavors.

Zest is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and for dinner Monday through Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Most recently, Zest launched its champagne & live music Sunday Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Zest MRKT

"Zest MRKT is open weekdays for breakfast and lunch. The menu offers freshly cooked breakfast and lunch options as well as healthy “grab-and-go” gourmet delights including sandwiches, soups, salads, fresh juices, protein shakes,coffee and more.

Zest MRKT has quickly been celebrated for its creatively prepared Shawarma, which offer worldly flavor profiles that rotate weekly.

Zest MRKT and coffee window is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Zest Bar & Lounge

The beverage program at Zest Bar & Lounge is gearing up to be one of downtown Miami’s most exciting places to imbibe with an indoor-outdoor, state-of-the-art bar and connecting lounge area. The innovative drink menu reflects Hutson’s cosmopolitan cuisine, featuring fresh juices, house made syrups, infusions and fresh picked garnishes.

A craft beer selection is available on tap while an on-site humidor houses a variety of fine cigars for guests to enjoy on the terrace. A carefully curated wine list is complete with champagne, vintage ports and interesting domestic and imported red, white and rosé selections.

Wine, cocktail and even beer pairings also accompanies Hutson’s exclusive bar menu. Zest’s Bar & Lounge hours are Monday through Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.

“Bar Bites” are available daily from 3 p.m. ‘til close; Happy Hour is Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and late night Happy Hour takes place on Saturday from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

In 1994 award-winning chef Cindy Hutson met her life partner, Delius Shirley. With an inherit passion for cooking, but no formal training and three kids to care for, Hutson was hesitant to open her first restaurant venture. Against the odds and with the extra support of Shirley, Hutson took the leap of faith and that same year opened Norma’s on the Beach. Rave reviews touted Hutson’s cuisine as “the best Caribbean restaurant in South Florida” and international support from USA Today, The New York Times, London Times, Chicago Tribune, Chef Magazine and Eater, who named Hutson “Chef of the Year” (2012), helped set the pace for what would develop into a thriving culinary future.

Hutson’s culturally diverse and seasonally driven culinary style is heavily influenced by her extensive travel and food history. Her signature “Cuisine of the Sun” is a self-coined approach that means to create without limits and cook everything under the sun, infusing nuances of her famous island flavors throughout. “I thrive on teaching about our earth’s bounties, edible history and utilizing indigenous ingredients that are regionally prepared,” says Hutson about her culinary inspiration, which is apparent in her many regionally-inspired Caribbean concepts…
